Today, I would like to thank you for participating in the 2026 Republican Primary. The CCRP volunteers have worked diligently to assist the voters in many ways to ensure you are educated on this Primary. Due to your participation, Carson City had it's second-highest turnout at 42% in a primary election. My goal for us was to beat our previous turnout of 32% for Carson, which is about average. I believe that our constant push to engage our voters is paying off. We want you to be enlightened and involved, so thank you Carson City, voters. Which county had the largest turnout? Congratulations, Esmeralda County: they have 624 voters, and 318 voted, giving a total participation rate of 51%. The voters in Esmeralda County showed they care!

We had some surprises in this election, but we were confident that the Governor would pull through. There were many uncertainties about who would come through, but now the results are in. Unfortunately, with every election, there are candidates we hope will be elected based on our personal preferences, and we are disappointed when they are not. Now we must take time to digest and accept the results. Northern Nevadans are very special people, so we must take a second to breathe, analyze the results, and then pull up our cowboy boots and get to work.
I want to congratulate all the Candidates who were victorious in the primary. To all other candidates who entered the race, thank you for exemplifying true Patriotism with your call to stand up for your community, state, and country. Now as we move past the primary, we look towards the General Election on November 3rd. Most of all, we must move forward as a unified Republican Party, which I personally know will be difficult. Unfortunately, this Primary brought out some of the worst behavior I have ever witnessed in producing campaign material. Many questions need to be answered pertaining to the blatant misinformation and false advertising that some candidates used, but going forward we must still be unified for the good of the country. This is what happens when our candidates allow super PAC funding and DC Campaign Consultants to drive their campaigns rather than their own Northern Nevada Community Values. Where do we go from here? For all of us, we have greatly enjoyed the direction President Trump has taken us; therefore, we must elect Nevada

Republican members of Congress to represent us in Washington, or there will be a another constant two years of impeachment proceedings. I am sick of the Democratic rhetoric of impeachment of President Trump. We can’t let that happen. When it comes time to vote in November, we will go to the polls and vote for the Republican Candidate for Congressional District 2 for our President Trump. He has done so much for us; this is the least we can do for him, right? Let’s start the healing process, move forward as a stronger Republican Party, and do what is best for Nevada and the USA.
I am sure most of you know who has won their races, but here is the list -
Governor: Joe Lombardo
Attorney General: Adriana Fralick Guzman
Congressional District 2: David Flippo
NV Treasure: Drew Johnson
Secretary of State: Jim Marchant
Nevada State Senator District 16: Lisa Krasner
Nevada State Assembly District 40: Julie Butler
You can see the final numbers here: https://silverstateelection.nv.gov/
This also represents the list of candidates you will be voting for on November 3rd, plus -
Lt. Governor: Stavros Anthony
Nevada State Controller: Andy Mathews
Carson City Clerk-Recorder: Scott Hoen (he is uncontested, so needs 1 vote, LOL)
and a few more
We will be sending a slate card to all Republicans in Carson City early in October. Please stay tuned in and involved. We are in for a wild ride, and we need you.
OPINION: There is one thing that needs to be addressed: James Settelmeyer. It needs to be said that those attack ads were vicious and untrue about James Settelmeyer. James is a 4th-generation Carson Valley native who loves the people and the land. As a Nevada Assemblyman and Senator, he represented northern Nevada as a true patriot. Those attack ads deeply hurt his daughter because she knew they were untrue. Melissa Clement, Director of Right to Life, Governor Lombardo, Assemblymen Jim Wheeler, and P.K. O’Neill, and on and on, all supported James because he is nothing like how those ads portrayed him. James is soft-spoken, easy to talk to, kind, and loves the land and the people. James stepped up to run for CD2 after the people of Northern Nevada pleaded with him to do so. He ran for the love of country and put his family through misery for us. I want to thank James Settelmeyer for being a true patriot and stepping up when he knew we needed him: God Bless James and his family.

Now let's have some fun. Saturday, the CCRP and Governor Lombardo will have a float in the Carson Valley Days Parade. Our Elephant "Lincoln" will be on the float, and we need lots of walkers to hand out candy to the children. We will meet at Douglas High School around 7:30 AM to decorate the float and get lined up for the parade, which starts at 9 AM. Being in these parades is so much fun. Come out and join us. We would appreciate it if you could let us know whether you can join us by calling CCRP Headquarters at 775-841-1800.

Movie Night is coming up on June 19. We are showing “Capitol Punishment,” a documentary about the J6ers. We offer pizza and salad with beverages. We are developing our documentary movie club, and you don’t want to miss out. We do ask for a $10 donation. Please RSVP at 775-841-1800 so we know how much pizza to order.

Our General Membership meeting will be on June 25 at the Casino Fandango, 3800 S. Carson Street, in Craft 55 room, unless there is construction taking place. Then we will be in the Ballroom. The doors open at 6:30 with the meeting starting at 7 PM. This month, Scott Hoen, our Clerk-Recorder, will be our speaker. Scott will be giving us up-to-date information and data on the Primary Election. Our meetings are open to the public and are free. Please come out and join us. Learn how you can be an active member of the CCRP. We are always on the move.
I want to thank you for your continued support. We are growing the Carson City Republican Party every day, and we couldn’t do it without you. Your vote matters, and you showed the rest of the state that we are savvy and engaged in politics. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I appreciate each and every one of you.
God Bless America, , Nevada, Carson City, and You,
Susan Ruch, Your Chairman
