Chairman Scott Hoen's Update - 8-11-21

Our Ice Cream Social was a hit -- we raised money and more importantly, our community, was able to listen to candidates in the 2022 upcoming election. It was fantastic to see the little groups discussing with each their candidates and their issues of concern. Thank you to everyone that helped us with the event and we look forward to our September event to do more of the same. I look forward to doing more of these -- Stay tuned for details. Sam Brown, for US Senate, joined about 50 people at the Casino Fandango last Friday for a great question and answer session to better get to know the candidate. Thank you to everyone for coming and asking those difficult questions that concern you with the US Senate race. The small group afforded the ability for more questions and was easier to get to know the candidate. This upcoming Saturday, August 14th is the 6th annual Basque Fry -- they are SOLD OUT but they are going to stream the event - let me know if you need a link to watch the show. Normally, the Basque Fry sells 2,000 Tickets -- this year they sold out at 4,000 tickets. Go early to get your seat -- stop by our Rural Caucus booth and say hi. You will see the Carson City Elephant -- take a photo and share with your friends and family. We have another meet and greet scheduled with Mayor John Lee running for Nevada Governor on August 17th from 2:30PM to 4:30PM at the Casino Fandango -- please call the office at 775-841-1800 to sign up for the event or register HERE, and I hope to see you there to ask the tough questions. Find out who he is and what he stands for to help with your 2022 election decision. BTW - by the way -- click here to check to see what your voting registration record is -- only REGISTERED Republicans can vote for a candidate registered as Republican on the ballot. Nevada is a closed primary state and only Republicans can vote for Republicans etc. If you are registered, via the DMV, as NO PARTY - you won't have a voice if you remain NO PARTY -- look up your registration status and re-register with this link. There will be important choices to be made on the June 2022 ballot -- make sure you have a voice for the Republican Governor or Senator or your choice! Our August Central Committee membership meeting is Thursday, August 26th at 6:30PM. We will be voting on a State Committeemen opening and taking nominations from the floor. So far, we have Joshua Skaggs running and if you are interested -- please reach out to me. We are also looking for volunteers to help us with the Nevada Day Parade float with the elephant. Please reach out to us using this link. Scott Hoen, Chairman Chair@CarsonCityRepublicans.com Cell (714) 270-9607
