Chairman Scott Hoen's Update - 9-22-21

First -- See you this Thursday, September 23 at 6:30PM at the Casino Fandango. Two great speakers are lined up and you won't want to miss this meeting!

Second, the turnout for the Dean Heller "Special Announcement" was fantastic. We were successful getting press coverage from the Nevada Appeal, Reno Gazette, Las Vegas Review Journal, CarsonNow.org, EverythingNevada, Associated Press and local TV! Another puts their name in the hat for Governor. The Carson City Republican Party does not pre=primary endorse candidates but we want all candidates to have the opportunity to meet with our community. Thank you for attending these AND please ask the tough questions to make an informed decision during the June 2022 election. Click here to see all the Candidates that we are aware of that are running for office.

Mark Wlaschin, Deputy Secretary of State, presented to the Carson City Board of Supervisors last Thursday educating any and everyone on the upcoming election law changes. A MAJOR change is the ability for any voter to OPT OUT of receiving a mail-in ballot. You can do that now by going to the Carson City Clerk-Recorder's page by clicking here. Fill out the form and return to the Carson City Clerk-Recorder's office. We have these preference forms at our Carson City Republican office if you would like to stop by and fill one out.

Two things about the process --

1 - You must complete the form and return it no later than 60 Days before the June 2022 election

2 - If you fill out and return the form --- PLEASE, Please mark your calendar and make sure you show up at the poll to vote. Your one vote matters and does count!

AB 321 was passed during the 81st Legislation Session. All active registered voters in the State of Nevada will be sent a Mail Ballot. Voters will still have the opportunity to vote in-person at a Carson City designated polling location.

Individuals registering 13 days before the election will not be sent a Mail Ballot and will have to vote in-person (except for an emergency).

A voter may opt out of receiving a Mail Ballot no later than 60 days before the election. The voter must opt back in if they wish to receive a mail ballot if they have previously opted out.

Barbara Cegavske and Mark Wlaschin will be at our February 2022 Member meeting to explain more about the process and answer your questions.

I attended the Clark County (Las Vegas) Membership meeting last night and they had over 300 people there -- they are getting their act together and working with the State Party and it is good to see. I will report more on the group as we get connected and working closer.

The RNC is opening a office in Reno and they are working hard on the election integrity front and more to come on this important topic.

Look for our weekly email about our Oktoberfest at Casino Fandango on October 2nd and 3rd.

Drop by the office and pick up a FREE US Constitution booklet on October 9th for our Hot Diggity Dog meet and greet.

Make it a Profitable Day
