Weekly Report for May 1, 2024

“For People in the Know”

By Susan Ruch, Chairman Carson City Republicans

Announcements

Town Hall Meeting

The CCRP will continue holding our Weekly Town Hall meetings at the CCRP Headquarters on Wednesday afternoons from 4 to 6 PM. Each week, candidates from local to Federal positions will have the opportunity to speak. All Candidates and the public are welcome. For further information, call 775 841-1800. Today, Tyson League, Justice of the Peace, and Drew Ribar, Nevada Assembly District 40.

Interim Standing Committee Hearing/Legislative and Elections

Many of us share concerns about the Nevada and the United States elections. On May 10, 9 AM, there will be a hearing at the Legislature with the Operations and Elections Committee, where they will discuss election equipment. This is a crucial opportunity for public Comments at the beginning and end of the meeting. You can testify in person, by phone, or by email. Public Comment is a fundamental right of the Citizens of Nevada to testify at legislative hearings.

We urge you to join us at the Legislature on May 10, 9 AM. Once we know the room, we will

share that information with you. Let's gather in the hallway with our bright RED Shirts and

make our voices heard.

The Carson City Republican Party is always in need of more volunteers. We have recently added five additional State Committeemen. Elysse Johnston is leading voter registration efforts and more. John Parrish is working on all the critical precincts involving many facets.

Carolanne Roberts is chairing ballot chasing, harvesting, and assistance. Donnell Brierley will chair the Booth Committee with her first challenge, the Rib Fest at the Fandango. We have a dedicated staff at the office and are always looking for more people. Our shifts are 3 hours long, and we will be very busy with the election. If you are interested in helping with any of these projects, please call our office at 775 841-1800 and leave a message for any of the above people, or you may stop by and fill out our volunteer registration card in the office or on our website. We are all working together to save our country. Thank you for your continued support and help.

The CCRP has accepted a challenge to collect donations of $1500 for our Ballot Chasing Initiative for the general election. We aim to have paid ballot chasers to ensure every Republican votes in Carson City. This is an initiative to encourage people who are prone not to vote even though they are Registered Republican Voters. We have a generous donor who has agreed to match our $1500 with a matching donation if we can collect our portion by June 1. We have collected $1100 so far. Everyone is asking for money, but every dollar counts if you can spare a few dollars. The CCRP is working very hard to keep Carson Red and to win the 2024 election. You can donate through our website, QR Code, or link: https://square.link/u/n1d0tFgw. Thank you, every dollar helps.

It's hard to believe, but the 4th of July will be here before you know it. We will enter a float in

the 4th of July Parade in Virginia City. We are forming our float committee very shortly. We

need some creative people to assist with the artistic part of the float, and we will require workers to help decorate the float. If you have not participated in the parade in Virginia City, I can tell you it is an enjoyable day. Our committee will be forming next week. We will need bags of candy, so if you are heading to Costco, it would be greatly appreciated if you could pick up a bag of candy for us. The children are just so excited to receive pieces of candy along the parade route. It is just so fun to see their smiling faces. Call us to sign up for the float committee. We have some fun ideas for the float this year. 775 841-1800 to get started on this fun project.

Our First Friday of this coming month, May 3, will be canceled. Our CCRP family will be in

South Lake Tahoe on the 3rd of May for the Republican State Convention. Our next First Friday will be on June 7th. We will be at the White House on Stewart St. from 5 to 9 PM. The White House is a lovely Victorian house with outdoor facilities located at Stewart and Telegraph St. It promises to be a fun summer evening so be sure to mark your calendar.

Town Hall Meetings

Town Hall Meeting on May 8, 4 to 6 PM, we will be hosting Carol Del Carlo, Board of Regents District 9, Tyson League, Justice of the Peace, Melanie Burketta, Justice of the Peace, and Lucia Maloney, for Board of Supervisor Ward 4 and Joy Trushenski, School Board Trustee, District 7.

May 15, 4 to 6 PM Town Hall, we will be hosting Dr. Jeff Gunter, who is running for U.S. Senate with additional candidates. Please stay tuned for further information. We are hosting town hall meetings at the Carson City Republican Headquarters, 1971 California Street, Carson City. For further information, call 775 841-1800.

On May 14 at 6 PM, we will host a crucial discussion with Hope Sullivan of the Carson City

Planning Commission. This session will focus on the Master Plan for Carson City, a topic of

constant discussion due to the city's continued growth. Your participation is vital to shaping

the future of our city. The location of the meeting will be announced soon. We look forward to

your presence.

On May 23, the Carson City Republican Party will hold its General Meeting starting at 6:30

PM in the Craft 55 Room in the Casino Fandango. 6:30 is social time, and at 7 PM, the meet-

ing begins promptly. We will invite all candidates to attend this meeting. We will give each

candidate up to 3 minutes to speak to convince you to vote for them in the Primary, which will

start on Saturday, May 25. All candidates whom we can reach will be invited. This should be

an exciting evening. Candidates, if you are reading this, please reach out to us. We want you

to attend and speak. Please call Susan Ruch, Chair, at 775 351-3917.

From May 24 through Memorial Day, we will be hosting a booth at the Casino Fandango

Rockin' Rib Fest. This is a fun-filled event; we need volunteers to man the booth in 3-hour

shifts. Many of you have enjoyed this experience in the past, engaging with a diverse range of people. Your contribution is invaluable to us. Please reach out to Donelle Brierley at our office to volunteer.

Early Voting Starts on Saturday, May 25th, from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Community Center on William Street. You may drop off your ballot or vote in person at this location. Important:

Starting Monday, May 27, the hours change to 9 AM to 6 PM Monday through Friday for in-

person voting and dropping your ballots off. Our Election Day we ALL LOVE is June 11 from

7 AM to 7 PM. We love our election day, but we request that during this election cycle, please

vote early for the primary and general elections. We are going to use the extra resources to

track down voters who have not voted, yes, you Republicans who feel your vote doesn't

count, etc. We need every Republican to vote. I have seen the statistics; if all Republicans

vote in the north, we will take over Las Vegas because many people don’t vote down south.

We will have a ballot box at our office during office hours that will be manned and delivered

directly to the clerk recorder's office at the end of each day. Once more, if you want to help

with ballot assistance/chasing, contact us; we need an army to ward off the progressives.

CCRP Office and What We Offer

We offer a vast selection of political merchandise for donations. We have political shirts, flags, buttons, hats, bumper stickers galore, and patriotic brooches. Please stop in and visit with staff and peruse our exciting collection of items. Our hours are 10 to 4 Monday through Friday and 10 to 2 Saturdays. As a side note, we will not be open this Friday afternoon.

HELP OUR FUNDRAISING EFFORTS

The Carson City Republican Party wants to express our continued gratitude for your generosity. Your donations are the lifeblood of our organization, enabling us to pay for our office rent, utilities, and other essential expenses. We truly can’t do it without you, so thank you from the bottom of our hearts. This is a list of our Donor Programs for this coming year. We hope to see you at our various functions soon.

Major Donor $85 monthly reoccurring gift of $1,000

Booster Donor $45 a monthly recurring gift or $500 Donation

Please support us with any of these programs. All donations are welcome and greatly appreciated. You may donate on our website, www.carsoncityrepublicans.com, using our QR Code or by copying this web address and entering it into your web browser search.

Angel Donor—When attending our monthly meeting, please consider being an “Angel Donor.”

An Angel Donor matches up to $200 based on what we collect when we traditionally “pass the hat” at our monthly membership meeting. For our next meeting, the Angel Donor will receive a copy of the film “A Letter to the American Church” and a bottle of wine.

What do we do with our funds? We pay the rent for our office, keep the lights, pay for our utilities, print, and do everything else we can do for our people to help save our country. Everyone is a volunteer, and I can say that we watch how we spend our money very carefully. We will have significant expenses soon as we need to pay for all of the printing of the slate cards and mailing the cards to our voters. What are the slate cards? The Slate Cards let our voters know who is a Republican and who we need to vote for. Everyone must vote the down ticket, all red this election cycle. President to the School Board, Board of Supervisor, Justice of the Peace. If the candidate is listed on our salt card, please vote for that candidate. Meet the candidates so you know who the best candidate is.

Elections have Consequences.

“One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that

you end up being governed by your inferiors." Plato, Greek Philosopher

Have a great week, and remember that tomorrow is National Prayer Day. On Thursday, May 2, people will meet in front of the Capital at 11 AM.

Have a fabulous week, and we look forward to seeing you soon.

God Bless America, Nevada, Carson City, and you.
