As we head into this election cycle, the Primary and the General Election, we need to understand that the Democrats have no idea how to make your lives better. Are you able to come up with one policy that has improved your lives? We are in Iran now because Jimmy Carter was involved in Iran’s policy by pressuring Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlevi of Iran not to crack down on protestors and to improve human rights. The Carter administration discouraged the Iranian Imperial

Army from protecting the Monarchy which resulted in allowing the revolution to proceed. According to recorded documents, Carter was communicating with Ayatollah Khomeini’s entourage. Democrat President Carter naively encouraged the Imperial Army to accept the change in government without truly understanding the goals of the new regime. This occurred in 1979. Fast forward to Barack Obama's attempt to negotiate with the Ayatollah Khamenei, which ended with us sending them airplanes loaded with pallets with $1.7 billion in cash, nominally in exchange for a deal with which the Iranian regime would never comply.

Thanks to the Democrats, they have lowered the standards of education in the name of equality, fairness, and trying to close achievement gaps. This has only undermined the quality of education for all. We now have so many victim classes of people that it’s referred to as "Alphabet Soup": LGBTQIA+. Who can keep up with all of this? And of course, we can’t forget our pronouns. The Democrats were trying desperately to force electric cars on us. On the first day of Biden's term, he canceled the Canadian XL pipeline to pander to the environmentalists; this only caused more damage to the environment due to the transportation of oil using railroads and trucks. We can thank Obama and Biden for our Muslim problem right here in the US. Remember, as you go to the ballot box in the Nevada Primary, every Democrat Senator and Democrat Assembly member voted for the unpatriotic idea to have the month of July be designated by law as Muslim Heritage Month. Too bad for our nation's birthday on the 4th of July. Our own Senators, Cortez-Masto (D) and Rosen (D), oppose the Save America Act, which would help protect our elections even though it is broadly supported (> 74%). So once more, what policies are the Democrats promising you this election that are going to improve your life? At every level, elections have consequences.
The one thing the Democrats are promising you is, on day one of taking back the House of Representatives, they are going to impeach President Trump. In the 2019 impeachment, they spent a minimum of $25 million dollars of your tax money on the fraudulent Russia Hoax, wasting YOUR MONEY on a lie. The second impeachment was lower only because it was shorter and wasted another $3 million of YOUR MONEY. This infuriates me, and our Nevada Senators voted for these erroneous impeachment scandals all in the name of keeping power. This is a complete betrayal of the American citizens and the State of Nevada.

Why do I bring this up? Because Elections have consequences. Every Republican must vote in every election. This map demonstrates that every vote counts. We won the popular vote, so your vote does count. It is your sacred right and duty. It is hard to believe we are only three weeks away from early voting in the primary. Everyone should have received their sample ballot. This election is very important, just as the presidential election was in 2024. Do you ask why? We are electing a congressman for Congressional District-2, Mark Amodei’s seat (the House of Representatives). This is a very important election for the Rural Counties. We need a congressman who will represent our very special region in Washington, DC. Therefore, please investigate all candidates and vote for the one closest to our values. We also need to vote for a candidate for Assembly District 40, P.K. O’Neill’s seat. We need to gain Republican seats in the Nevada State Legislature, we simply cannot afford lose any seats. If the Democrats gain a super-majority, Governor Lombardo will lose his veto power. We must vote for a Republican Secretary of State, Attorney General, our Lt. Governor, and re-elect our Governor. These elections are crucial. As I said, “Elections have Consequences!”

We have begun posting interviews conducted by my First Vice Chair, John Pack, and State Committeewoman Lucia Maloney to our website, https://www.carsoncityrepublicans.com/news, and our YouTube Channel, "Carson City Republican Party" (there are two channels you want the Carson City Republican Party). They have interviewed candidates from all races, from Congressional District-2 and Secretary of State, down to candidates running for the School Board. This gives you a great opportunity to see and hear the candidates. We endorsed all the incumbents, so we did not interview their challengers. Please take an opportunity to listen to the candidates.
Another Key Point to this election is that there are three very important questions.
Question 7. Voter ID. This question passed in the last election, with over 73% of voters in Nevada wanting Voter ID. If we pass this once more, it will be codified into our constitution, and the State of Nevada will have VOTER ID, just in time for the 2028 election. Elections have consequences, and we must fight every step of the way. Vote Yes for question 7.

Question 6: The Abortion Bill. This bill is redundant, as we already have the ability for women to have an abortion up to 6 months, technically a viable baby. We must protect our vulnerable girls. This bill takes away parental rights. A 12-year-old girl can have an abortion or be given the abortion pill without her parents knowledge. A boyfriend could find a medical professional who would pressure this girl into taking the pills, and very bad things could happen to her, and her parents would not know what was wrong. And any medical professional (dentist, dental hygienist, ENT, and more) can give the child abortion pills or an perform an abortion. This bill is a dream come true for sex traffickers, pedophiles, and the entire list of bad actors. Our daughters and granddaughters are at grave risk. Please vote NO on question 6!

The next question, which I trust will be on the ballot this year, is Protect Girls’ Sports. “Governor Joe Lombardo’s Initiative.” Most people do not think it is fair for boys to be playing in Girl’s Sports. Personally, I have a granddaughter who is training very hard to become a softball pitcher. She is only 9, but she works hard at pitching and truly enjoys it. It would be heartbreaking if she lost a scholarship or a trophy to some boy when she was 15, 16, or 17. It’s not right. Where are all those women who burned their bras for “Women’s Rights”? We must get this question on the ballot, so if you have not signed the petition, you can do so at our office (1971 California St, Carson City). You can also help out by collecting signatures yourself. Just stop by the office, and we can explain the process and give you a petition packet. Please help us protect Girls’ Sports. In November, Please Vote to “Protect Girls' Sports.”
These questions will be on the ballot in November. I believe I have given you additional important reasons to vote. We cannot let the Democrats take the House and the Senate. We need to overturn seats here in the Nevada legislature to prevent Nevada from turning into East California.
What can You Do?
We must get the vote out; we need your help with phone bankers and door knockers.
Our phone banking will involve calling Republican low-propensity voters in Carson City to explain the importance of voting. Please reach out to James Nitz at the CCRP headquarters.
We need people to register voters at various locations and collect signatures for the Protecting Girls’ Sports petition.
We need people to sign-up and train for the all-important task of serving as Poll Watchers. Please call the office if you are interested in assisting with protecting the vote for the primary.
What’s next:
Many of the CCRP board members will be heading to Las Vegas for the Nevada State Convention this coming weekend. We will have lots of great information when we return. The next Meet and Greet will be held on May 13, from 4 to 6 PM. If you are a candidate, please let me know - Susan Ruch at 775-351-3917.
Movie Night will be on May 15. We will be showing Coddling the American Mind. The documentary examines a mysterious health crisis that affects an entire generation. The film is based on a New York Times Bestseller. We serve pizza, salad, and beverages. We ask for a $10 donation. I suggest you give us a try. Our movie night is turning into a movie club, where you can make new like-minded friends. Doors open at 5:30 with the film starting at 6 PM. Please RSVP: 775 841-1800. The film is shown at 1971 California Street, the CCRP Headquarters.
The CCRP is thrilled to be sponsoring the National Day of Prayer, Praise, and Gratitude for America on May 17 at the Legislative Amphitheater from 1 to 4 PM. We will have live music by Wildflower and Sage, Food Trucks, Speakers, booths, and wonderful Pastors leading us in Prayer for America, our glorious country. Everyone is welcome as we share our gratitude for our Nation. We are duplicating what will occur on the Capitol Mall in Washington, DC, on the same day, which will be led by our President. President Trump is encouraging all capitols to follow this example. Please come out and make this day a huge success.

Leading up to the Election:
Please stay tuned for an announcement about a few political debates taking place right before early voting begins. The information will be announced soon.
May 28 will be the CCRP General Membership Meeting with Candidates, making their last-minute pitch to you. We will be accepting your mail-in ballots at the meeting.
On June 6, from 1 to 4, we will be holding an Ice Cream Social at our headquarters to celebrate the end of early voting and the acceptance of ballots, which will be delivered directly to the Clerk Reorders' office. Election day is June 9.
I want to thank everyone for your continued support. We will have numerous expenses in the next 5 months. We want our voters to know the candidates for the General Election, so we mail a slate card to every Republican in Carson City, which is very expensive for a non-profit. We have door knockers who share important information with you, and, once more, printing is very expensive. If you can afford to donate a few dollars, we would greatly appreciate it. You can easily use the attached QR Code to make a one-time donation or a recurring donation. We invite every voter to stop by our office to ask questions, browse our really cool political merchandise, and, while you're there, drop a few dollars in the donation box. Every dollar helps us help support your political goals, and we are truly grateful. CCRP Headquarters, 1971 California St.
As we move into early voting, please vote for people who share our values for our rural community, our state, and our nation. If you can’t get to the polls and you don’t want to mail your ballot, we will come and pick up your ballot for you (we will have ID, so you know we are with the CCRP; don’t give your ballot to a stranger), or we can drive you to the polls. Please call us at 775 841-1800 to make arrangements.

Thank you, and may God Bless the United States of America, Nevada, Carson City, and You,
Susan Ruch, Your Chairman
