CARSON CITY REPUBLICAN PARTY

With the Chairman's Corner, read insight into the Chairman's Opinion and more information

CHAIR'S CORNER

As we head into this election cycle, the Primary and the General Election, we need to understand that the Democrats have no idea how to make your lives better. Are you able to come up with one policy that has improved your lives? We are in Iran now because Jimmy Carter was involved in Iran’s policy by pressuring Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlevi of Iran not to crack down on protestors and to improve human rights. The Carter administration discouraged the Iranian Imperial

Army from protecting the Monarchy which resulted in allowing the revolution to proceed. According to recorded documents, Carter was communicating with Ayatollah Khomeini’s entourage. Democrat President Carter naively encouraged the Imperial Army to accept the change in government without truly understanding the goals of the new regime. This occurred in 1979. Fast forward to Barack Obama's attempt to negotiate with the Ayatollah Khamenei, which ended with us sending them airplanes loaded with pallets with $1.7 billion in cash, nominally in exchange for a deal with which the Iranian regime would never comply.

Thanks to the Democrats, they have lowered the standards of education in the name of equality, fairness, and trying to close achievement gaps. This has only undermined the quality of education for all. We now have so many victim classes of people that it’s referred to as "Alphabet Soup": LGBTQIA+. Who can keep up with all of this? And of course, we can’t forget our pronouns. The Democrats were trying desperately to force electric cars on us. On the first day of Biden's term, he canceled the Canadian XL pipeline to pander to the environmentalists; this only caused more damage to the environment due to the transportation of oil using railroads and trucks. We can thank Obama and Biden for our Muslim problem right here in the US. Remember, as you go to the ballot box in the Nevada Primary, every Democrat Senator and Democrat Assembly member voted for the unpatriotic idea to have the month of July be designated by law as Muslim Heritage Month. Too bad for our nation's birthday on the 4th of July. Our own Senators, Cortez-Masto (D) and Rosen (D), oppose the Save America Act, which would help protect our elections even though it is broadly supported (> 74%). So once more, what policies are the Democrats promising you this election that are going to improve your life? At every level, elections have consequences.

The one thing the Democrats are promising you is, on day one of taking back the House of Representatives, they are going to impeach President Trump. In the 2019 impeachment, they spent a minimum of $25 million dollars of your tax money on the fraudulent Russia Hoax, wasting YOUR MONEY on a lie. The second impeachment was lower only because it was shorter and wasted another $3 million of YOUR MONEY. This infuriates me, and our Nevada Senators voted for these erroneous impeachment scandals all in the name of keeping power. This is a complete betrayal of the American citizens and the State of Nevada.

Why do I bring this up? Because Elections have consequences. Every Republican must vote in every election. This map demonstrates that every vote counts. We won the popular vote, so your vote does count. It is your sacred right and duty. It is hard to believe we are only three weeks away from early voting in the primary. Everyone should have received their sample ballot. This election is very important, just as the presidential election was in 2024. Do you ask why? We are electing a congressman for Congressional District-2, Mark Amodei’s seat (the House of Representatives). This is a very important election for the Rural Counties. We need a congressman who will represent our very special region in Washington, DC. Therefore, please investigate all candidates and vote for the one closest to our values. We also need to vote for a candidate for Assembly District 40, P.K. O’Neill’s seat. We need to gain Republican seats in the Nevada State Legislature, we simply cannot afford lose any seats. If the Democrats gain a super-majority, Governor Lombardo will lose his veto power. We must vote for a Republican Secretary of State, Attorney General, our Lt. Governor, and re-elect our Governor. These elections are crucial. As I said, “Elections have Consequences!”

We have begun posting interviews conducted by my First Vice Chair, John Pack, and State Committeewoman Lucia Maloney to our website, https://www.carsoncityrepublicans.com/news, and our YouTube Channel, "Carson City Republican Party" (there are two channels you want the Carson City Republican Party). They have interviewed candidates from all races, from Congressional District-2 and Secretary of State, down to candidates running for the School Board. This gives you a great opportunity to see and hear the candidates. We endorsed all the incumbents, so we did not interview their challengers. Please take an opportunity to listen to the candidates.

Another Key Point to this election is that there are three very important questions.

Question 7. Voter ID.  This question passed in the last election, with over 73% of voters in Nevada wanting Voter ID. If we pass this once more, it will be codified into our constitution, and the State of Nevada will have VOTER ID, just in time for the 2028 election. Elections have consequences, and we must fight every step of the way. Vote Yes for question 7.

Question 6: The Abortion Bill. This bill is redundant, as we already have the ability for women to have an abortion up to 6 months, technically a viable baby. We must protect our vulnerable girls. This bill takes away parental rights. A 12-year-old girl can have an abortion or be given the abortion pill without her parents knowledge. A boyfriend could find a medical professional who would pressure this girl into taking the pills, and very bad things could happen to her, and her parents would not know what was wrong. And any medical professional (dentist, dental hygienist, ENT, and more) can give the child abortion pills or an perform an abortion. This bill is a dream come true for sex traffickers, pedophiles, and the entire list of bad actors. Our daughters and granddaughters are at grave risk. Please vote NO on question 6!

The next question, which I trust will be on the ballot this year, is Protect Girls’ Sports.Governor Joe Lombardo’s Initiative.” Most people do not think it is fair for boys to be playing in Girl’s Sports. Personally, I have a granddaughter who is training very hard to become a softball pitcher. She is only 9, but she works hard at pitching and truly enjoys it. It would be heartbreaking if she lost a scholarship or a trophy to some boy when she was 15, 16, or 17. It’s not right. Where are all those women who burned their bras for “Women’s Rights”? We must get this question on the ballot, so if you have not signed the petition, you can do so at our office (1971 California St, Carson City). You can also help out by collecting signatures yourself. Just stop by the office, and we can explain the process and give you a petition packet. Please help us protect Girls’ Sports. In November, Please Vote to “Protect Girls' Sports.”

These questions will be on the ballot in November. I believe I have given you additional important reasons to vote. We cannot let the Democrats take the House and the Senate. We need to overturn seats here in the Nevada legislature to prevent Nevada from turning into East California.

What can You Do?

We must get the vote out; we need your help with phone bankers and door knockers.

Our phone banking will involve calling Republican low-propensity voters in Carson City to explain the importance of voting. Please reach out to James Nitz at the CCRP headquarters.

We need people to register voters at various locations and collect signatures for the Protecting Girls’ Sports petition.

We need people to sign-up and train for the all-important task of serving as Poll Watchers. Please call the office if you are interested in assisting with protecting the vote for the primary.

What’s next:

Many of the CCRP board members will be heading to Las Vegas for the Nevada State Convention this coming weekend. We will have lots of great information when we return. The next Meet and Greet will be held on May 13, from 4 to 6 PM. If you are a candidate, please let me know - Susan Ruch at 775-351-3917.

Movie Night will be on May 15. We will be showing Coddling the American Mind. The documentary examines a mysterious health crisis that affects an entire generation. The film is based on a New York Times Bestseller. We serve pizza, salad, and beverages. We ask for a $10 donation. I suggest you give us a try. Our movie night is turning into a movie club, where you can make new like-minded friends. Doors open at 5:30 with the film starting at 6 PM. Please RSVP: 775 841-1800. The film is shown at 1971 California Street, the CCRP Headquarters.

The CCRP is thrilled to be sponsoring the National Day of Prayer, Praise, and Gratitude for America on May 17 at the Legislative Amphitheater from 1 to 4 PM. We will have live music by Wildflower and Sage, Food Trucks, Speakers, booths, and wonderful Pastors leading us in Prayer for America, our glorious country. Everyone is welcome as we share our gratitude for our Nation. We are duplicating what will occur on the Capitol Mall in Washington, DC, on the same day, which will be led by our President. President Trump is encouraging all capitols to follow this example. Please come out and make this day a huge success.

Leading up to the Election:

Please stay tuned for an announcement about a few political debates taking place right before early voting begins. The information will be announced soon.

May 28 will be the CCRP General Membership Meeting with Candidates, making their last-minute pitch to you. We will be accepting your mail-in ballots at the meeting.

On June 6, from 1 to 4, we will be holding an Ice Cream Social at our headquarters to celebrate the end of early voting and the acceptance of ballots, which will be delivered directly to the Clerk Reorders' office. Election day is June 9.

I want to thank everyone for your continued support. We will have numerous expenses in the next 5 months. We want our voters to know the candidates for the General Election, so we mail a slate card to every Republican in Carson City, which is very expensive for a non-profit. We have door knockers who share important information with you, and, once more, printing is very expensive. If you can afford to donate a few dollars, we would greatly appreciate it. You can easily use the attached QR Code to make a one-time donation or a recurring donation. We invite every voter to stop by our office to ask questions, browse our really cool political merchandise, and, while you're there, drop a few dollars in the donation box. Every dollar helps us help support your political goals, and we are truly grateful. CCRP Headquarters, 1971 California St.

As we move into early voting, please vote for people who share our values for our rural community, our state, and our nation. If you can’t get to the polls and you don’t want to mail your ballot, we will come and pick up your ballot for you (we will have ID, so you know we are with the CCRP; don’t give your ballot to a stranger), or we can drive you to the polls. Please call us at 775 841-1800 to make arrangements.

Thank you, and may God Bless the United States of America, Nevada, Carson City, and You,

Susan Ruch, Your Chairman

I want to take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy Easter and Passover, for those of you who celebrate. It is a wonderful time to spend with your family and friends. We have much to be grateful for living here in the United States. As our Constitution states, we are “One Nation Under God.”

We are rapidly heading to our primary on June 9. It is crucial to be involved as these races are important. As important as the presidential elections. The Carson City Republican Party has early endorsed Governor Lombardo and Lt. Governor Anthony. Both Governor Lombardo and Lt. Governor Anthony have proven that we need to re-elect them.

With Congressman Amodei retiring, the race for CD2 has a long list of candidates, so as voters, we must analyze which candidate will best represent the rural counties. Interesting: 4th-generation Nevadan James Settlemeyer entered the race for CD2 at the last minute. Another interesting move in the congressional races was the candidacy of David Flippo from Las Vegas. A month ago, he was running for CD 4 and then suddenly decided to switch races and run for CD 2. Several candidates are running who are well worth taking the time to evaluate to determine who will best represent our values for our “Rural Nevada.”  Monica Jay Stabert is running against incumbent Senator Lisa Krasner for the Nevada Senate. The Secretary of State has 4 Republicans running in the primary, and Sharon Angle and Jim Merchant are the most familiar names in this race. Numerous non-partisan races will not be on the primary ballot because there are only two candidates in a particular race or, in our Clerk-Recorder's case, he has no challenger. Therefore, if you are not registered as a Republican or Democrat, you will not have a candidate to vote for in the Primary. We will be holding Town Halls (candidate meet & greet opportunities) at our office, so please check our website calendar (https://www.carsoncityrepublicans.com/calendar) for the most up-to-date information on which candidates will be hosted and when.

The CCRP will do everything we can to help you learn about candidates and help you decide which candidates align with our values. Last week at our General Membership Meeting we provided time for 12 candidates to get up and give their reasons for running and short talk on why they believe you should vote for them. Starting today, April 1st, we will hold our first Meet and Greet at our headquarters, 1971 California Street, from 4 to 6 PM. We have Jesse Watts running for CD2 and Adriana Guzman Fralick, Candidate for Attorney General. The following week, on Thursday, we will announce two more candidates. We are making these events long enough (2 hours) that you can speak directly with the candidates, get your questions answered, and hear their responses to questions from other voters. On April 30, we will be holding a Town Hall at the Casino Fandango in the ballroom. We invite all Republican Candidates to participate in all races. This will be a great opportunity to meet and hear from each candidate before early voting starts on May 25. Candidates, please contact Susan or Melissa at our office (775-841-1800) to get on the agenda.

The current term for State Committee Members from the CCRP ends in April. We will be voting on the slate for our new state committeeman for the next two-year term on April 23rd. In April, we will also be voting for a new slate of CCRP board members (CCRP Central Committee). We have room for seven new members because others are stepping down. One amazing example is Joy Trushenski, she has been on the CCRP board for 16 years and has now decided to move to the board of the TPA Carson City Faith Coalition. We are very thankful to Joy for her dedication over the years. A few other members are taking on new obligations, and a couple others have health issues they are having to deal with. We feel it is a privilege to serve on the Carson City Republican Party's board, we already had two open positions to fill, and now other positions that will be vacated. The board looks for people who are active and eager to participate in getting "out the vote", growing the party, and assisting people who reflect our values to get elected. Our board members must share our values & principles and want to see the party grow. The Republican Party has long held values that were based on our forefathers' principles. Unfortunately, some Republicans elected to office in Washington do not seem to exhibit these values or respect for Americans, and are not demonstrating unity. This allows the Democrats to continue to undermine our progress. Therefore, it is our responsibility at the local level to relay our messages. This is bottom-up politics. We look forward to voting in new members who want to step up. It will be exciting to have people with new ideas and fresh enthusiasm. The election of board members will be held on April 23rd at our General Membership meeting. If you are inclined to run for a position on the board, you have two more weeks to submit a bio to:  secretary@carsoncityrepublicans.com. If you have questions about your commitment to the board, please call Susan Ruch, CCRP chairman, at 775-351-3917. I'll be happy to discuss your obligations with you. We are very proud of our board and look forward to adding new people who are committed to driving the Republican Party forward.

I am personally very proud of the CCRP Central Committee, we are a very active group and strive to have fun along the way.

We want to thank everyone who attended our Lincoln Day Dinner.  It was a very successful event with over 230 people.  Keynote speaker Governor Joe Lombardo who shared a very positive message, cementing exactly why we need to re-elect our GovernorWe had great silent and live auction items.  All the volunteers made the event very successful. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you next year.

The CCRP is deeply involved in the election cycle.  We need funds to mail out slate cards, which are very expensive.  The cards help people understand which candidates most closely align with our Conservative Values.  You can easily donate to CCRP on our Website, mail a check to CCRP at 1971 California Street, Carson City, NV 89701, or stop by the office between 10 AM and 4 pm during the workweek.  We thank you for your generosity.

God Bless America, Nevada, Carson City, and You,

Susan Ruch, Your Chairman

"But a Constitution of Government, once changed from Freedom, can never be restored. Liberty, once lost, is lost forever." - John Adams

Just a couple of weeks ago we were treated to one of the greatest State of the Union Addresses ever given, in my humble opinion. President Trump was spot-on for two hours (the longest in history) with one major achievement after another. I marvel at how this President, at his age, can speak for two hours with continuous commitment and humor. President Trump emphasized that America is roaring back into a Golden Age. He always gives us a sense of pride and an understanding of how exceptional our country truly is.

With the President's willingness to share the extraordinary people of our country, he invited Buddy Tagert, who served in World War II and is now 100 years old, and is looking forward to July 4, 2026. Petty Officer Scott Ruskin saved Millie Kate and an additional 164 people in the tragic flash floods last year at the girls' camp in Texas. President Trump awarded Scott the Legion of Merit for Extraordinary

Heroism. Connor Hellebuyck, the goalie of the United States Men's Hockey Team, received the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Unbelievably, he saved 41 of the 42 shots fired at him from the Canadian team.

Additionally, President Trump awarded Navy Captain Royce

Williams, now 100 years old, the Congressional Medal of Honor. Royce was an extraordinary pilot, flying over 220 missions in WW II, the Korean War, and Vietnam. These people are examples of the patriots we claim as True Americans.

Assuming most of you watched the State of the Union, I am

going to list the highlights we must share proudly wherever we can. Our citizens must understand the success we have achieved under President Trump. Understand that when you look at the picture of the Senate, the Republicans are standing, and our Senators Rosen and Cortez Masto are sitting. They are supposed to represent us but instead are taking a political position against their constituents. We must be actively involved so that we keep the House of Representatives and Congress. Furthermore we must convince everyone to vote #StraightRed-2026!

Highlights of Trump's Administration for the last year:

  • Last Year, Every Serviceman/woman received a $1776 Dividend for their duty.

  • "Stop the Insider Trading Act" Legislation that stops Congress from benefiting from Insider Trading. Now Congress needs to pass the bill (H.R.7008).

  • Classified the Cartels as Foreign Terrorist Organizations and Fentanyl as a weapon of mass destruction. The Fentanyl flow is down by 50%.

  • To keep Americans Safe, they have increased the budget for the Armed Forces to one trillion dollars.

  • With the discovery of 19 billion dollars in fraud in Minnesota in the Somali community, and with fraud discovered in California and other states, Vice President Vance has been given the Department of War on Fraud. Go get `em JD!

  • President Trump promised Iran would never have Nuclear Capabilities, and with Operation Midnight Hammer, he ensured they would not have a nuclear weapon any time soon. The Air Force has moved 11 F-22 Raptors, stealth fighters, into southern Israel. These F-22's are the envy of the world. We now have air supremacy and Iran's Air Force is out of the fight.

  • Trump Accounts: Babies born from 2025 to 2028 will get a huge perk: the Federal Government will deposit $ 1,000 into their accounts. Major companies are also pledging contributions.

  • The murder rate is the lowest since 1900.

  • Zero illegal aliens have been admitted in the last nine months.

  • Trump RX as a site to find pharmaceuticals at a reduced price. There was an example of a $4,000 prescription that was now available for $500. (https://trumprx.gov/)

  • Secured over $18 Trillion in commitments from foreign investors.

  • Lifted 2.4 million Americans off of food stamps in one year.

  • Increased oil production by over 600,000 barrels per day. The U.S. received over 80 million barrels of oil from Venezuela.

  • Implemented tax cuts, including no tax on tips, over time, and social security for seniors.

This list is just a small sampling of Trump's accomplishments in one year. We need to be involved in this election cycle to ensure Trump's agenda, the agenda that we voted for, continues to move forward.

President Trump and the Prime Minister of Israel are determined to dismantle Iranian military capabilities. The attack was determined to be necessary for the future safety of Israel and the Americans. Destroying the evil of the regime, who proclaim "death to America", that has been in rule for 47 years is monumental.

We are taking a step forward to bring peace to the Middle East, Israel, and the United States. We need to look at Iran's history over the last 50 years. From 1979 to 1981, we had the Iranian Hostage Crisis, in which they held 52 hostages for 444 days. In 1983, the Beirut Barracks were bombed by Iran-backed Hezbollah, where they attacked US Marine barracks, killing 241 US service members. Iran has for years tried desperately to develop a nuclear bomb, but it has also continually conducted cyber operations targeting our infrastructure.

Meanwhile, they chant "Death to America." The Democrats, meanwhile, are losing their minds, demonstrating their lack of love for America and just their continued hate of President Trump. Things might have been much different if Democrat President Obama had not delivered $400 million in Cash on pallets to Iran on January 17, 2016, just a few days before Donald Trump took office. $1.3 billion was additionally paid, considered an interest payment on the $400 million. Under Biden, $6 billion was freed from a sanction waiver that had been frozen in Korea. Obama and Biden, both Democrat Presidents, we must ask whether they were just weak or if it was their desire for the continued destruction of America. Fortunately, we now have President Trump, a strong President looking out for America.

Carson City Politics: 2nd Congressional District. We now must take an intense interest in electing the best candidate for Congressman Mark Amodei's seat. Many people have announced they will file this coming week for the 2nd Congressional District in Northern Nevada. As we move toward the Primary in June, we must be sure to determine who the best candidate is to support the Trump administration's agenda and represent Northern Nevada and rural communities. Stay tuned for opportunities to meet and talk with candidates in the near future. We are expecting a large number of candidates to run for this position. It promises to be very interesting.

CCRP Upcoming Events

*March 13, Movie Night at the Carson City Republican Party Headquarters, 1971 California Street. This month, we will be showing the Trump Prophecy. This movie gives evidence that Donald Trump is a Man for a time such as this. Come out and enjoy this film with your friends, along with pizza, salad, and drinks. We ask for a $10 donation for this enjoyable evening. Personally, I have seen this movie twice and really enjoy it. We hope to see you there.

Lincoln Day Dinner, March 21, at the Casino Fandango. Our Keynote Speaker this year is proudly our Governor Joe Lombardo. The event is our largest fundraiser of the year and is always a very interesting evening. This year, we will have some very unique live auction items, including a very special quilt celebrating the 250th Anniversary of our country, designed by one of our own, Elysse Johnston. The menu includes a prime rib carving station and Lincoln's favorite Chicken Marsala. Be sure to purchase your tickets before March 18. We always host a very fun evening. You may purchase your tickets online or at the headquarters, 1971 California Street.

Save The Dates

The Carson City Republican Party has two important events coming up.

On April 30, we will host a Town Hall at Casino Fandango from 6 to 9 PM. All Republican Candidates are welcome to participate. More information will be coming out shortly. Candidates: for more information, contact Susan@ (775) 351-3917.

On May 17, we will be hosting Freedom 250 with the TPA Faith Coalition at the Capital Amphitheater from 1 to 5 PM. We will have people from all walks of life speaking about the wonders of America, Prayers for our country, music, and food vendors. Save the date; more information will be available shortly.

We will be setting up a "Call to Action" on our website for voters to call Senators and Congressmen. We must make our elected representatives understand that we are "Paying Attention." I recently found this site very easy to use, and it lists Senators and Congressmen in alphabetical order. While watching TV, you can easily write your message and send it to all 100 Senators in the evening by copying and pasting it to each person. You can also use this site for Congress. Explore the site; it has a lot of information. https://www.270towin.com/elected-officials/contact-us-senators

Patriots Urgent Call for Action

ACTION NEEDED: Make Calls Send Emails Send Letters

At this time, I urge all of you to write and call the Senators to urge them to PASS "The Save America Act." Hopefully, the War in Iran will be over quickly, and we need a vote on the floor of the Senate so we can see who is not in favor of Voter ID. I promise Rosen and Cortez Masto will vote against it even though over 80% of the people on both sides of the Isle want Voter ID.

Thank you for your continued support. We cannot do it without you. We look forward to seeing you at one of our upcoming events. The CCRP wishes we did not have to ask for donations, but our organization is operated solely on donations. No one receives a salary; we just run on the pure love of our America. If you could graciously spare $20 a month, we would be extremely grateful. We need to mail the slate cards to Republican voters for the Primary and for the General Election. It's very costly but necessary. We NEED TO VOTE RED with no errors. I thank you in advance for your generosity.

May God bless you, Carson City, Nevada, and America. Susan Ruch, Your Chairman
