This past weekend, the Nevada GOP had our semiannual state meeting in Winnemucca. During the weekend, we held two board elections: one for our Rural Caucus, which represents the 15 Rural Counties, and the election of our state board. The Rural Counties elected Scott Keller as Chairman of the Rural Caucus, Jim McKillip as Vice Chair, Lori Nelson as Secretary, and Brenda Robertson as Treasurer. At the State Meeting on Saturday, most of the board ran unopposed. Vice Chair Jim Hindle had a challenge to his position. Jim Hindle is a beloved figure throughout the state, so indirectly, Jim was reelected. Our NVGOP Board consists of Michael McDonald, Chairman; Jim Hindle, Vice Chair; Barb Hawn, Secretary; and Kathy Njus, Treasurer. The CCRP Congratulates everyone on the Rural Caucus Board and the Nevada Republican Party Board.
A theme was carried out through the meetings on Friday and Saturday. The central message is the importance of the 2026 election and how we will emerge victorious. One strategic point is that we have strong, electable candidates and that we pre-endorse incumbents. Republicans running against incumbents often spend their opponents' war chests to ward off the Democratic challenger in the fall, diverting attention from helping Republicans retain their positions. I hope that if we, as a party, pre-endorse candidates before the primary, we will reduce the number of challengers in races they are unlikely to win. It is such a waste of money and energy. Many of the incumbents would be able to assist other winnable races if they do not have to worry about their race in their perspective district. Another ongoing discussion is that all 17 counties must work together in harmony so that we emerge victorious in 2026. We must re-elect all the Republican Assembly members and Senators to prevent the Democrats from achieving a super-majority. We know there are winnable Democratic seats that we can take, but it will require hard work and cooperation from all of us. Decisions were made to pre-endorse before the primary, Governor Lombardo, Lt. Governor Stavros Anthoney, and Andy Mathews, State Controller.
Sadly, I have heard that someone may challenge our Clerk Recorder in Carson City, Scott Hoen. Scott has done an incredible job while dealing with the Secretary of State, who has attempted to implement some of the most incompetent voting procedures. A great example is the card sent to voters, asking for their signature and the last four digits of their Social Security number on a postcard for all the world to see. Scott Hoen stood up and refused to send out the card. He is the best candidate, and really no one should be challenging him. If you want to run for a position, run against a Democrat and waste their money. If you’re a true Republican, you shouldn’t be running against a Republican, particularly an effective one like Scott.

The Board of the CCRP is discussing how to proceed with pre-endorsements for our local races. We recognized that we need quality electable candidates so that we can take back our legislature while helping the Trump administration to implement the agenda we all voted for.
When you decide to run for office, we can offer you the opportunity to save a few dollars. We have 17 boxes of the H wires you will need for your yard signs. The boxes contain 50 wires, and we are asking for a donation of $10 per box, or 20 cents per wire. The CCRP also wants to thank you in advance for your commitment to our community. Our cause needs strong, brave, conservative leaders such as yourself, but please run against a democrat.

Governor Lombardo vetoed 87 bills this last Legislative session. This is a record number of vetoes for any governor. Nevadans should be delighted that our Governor saved us from becoming more like California. Our Governor does not like to veto this number of bills, as he says, “This is bad Government, I don’t want to veto all of these bills.” The reason for all these vetoes is that the democrats just put forward so many terrible bills. For me, one of my worst was the Muslim Heritage Month for the entire month of July. To learn more about the 83rd Session of our legislation, come to our Lazy Days of Summer BBQ. Joe Weaver, the Campaign Manager for the Governor, will represent the Governor as one of our speakers.
To bring the unfortunate drama over voter registration near the Farmer's Market to a close, Breana Owens, the owner of the Farmer’s Market, was recently told that we will be able to have a table near the 9-11 Memorial for non-partisan voter registration. I genuinely feel that it was a victory for freedom of speech and our rights. I want to thank Parks and Recreation for their assistance in this. When you shop at the Shillington Farmers Market, please stop by our table. We have American Flags and pocket Constitutions for you free of charge. We will also be able to check your voter registration to confirm your party affiliation. If we are going to save the country, we must educate our citizens on our constitutional rights. #PledgeToVote2026 - Voter Registration must be allowed!

The location may change, so stay tuned—August 14, 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

We are seeking sponsors for our youth table, which will feature 10 young people whom we have committed to having at every one of our major events. A table for 10 is $800. We are accepting funds for individual tickets. We need the youth to be involved in our future leadership.
Fundraising is a part of our ongoing efforts at CCRP. It keeps our lights on and allows us to advance our Republican Conservative Values. We are reaching out to new Republicans as well as non-partisan individuals to encourage them to be informed and engaged voters. We will be visiting many of their doors to talk with them directly, handing out our goody bags, which consist of a pocket constitution, American Flag Etiquette, and a refrigerator magnet with important information. We need your help to perform these activities consistently. Our Supporters can donate right on our website, or you can mail a donation to our Carson City Republican Party, 1971 California Street, Carson City, NV 89701. Our sponsorships are as follows:
Major Donors, $1,000 per year; Carson City Boosters, $200 per year.
